In our garden we have a natural stone stairway leading up to a patio. For safety reasons we wanted a handrail on one side. This handrail needed to be custom designed and fabricated since the trajectory of the steps was very complicated. We wanted the rail to blend into the garden and not distract from the plantings. After exercising due diligence we decided to give Chandler Metalworks a go at it. After Jonathon Chandler took extensive measurements and pictures of the stairway we visited his shop where he gave us a choice of designs and materials. Two visits later Jonathan and his son installed the rail. It was everything we wanted-minimalist, sturdy and beautiful. It is a garden work of art-part of the hardscape. We love it!

Chandler Metal Works built Willamette Valley Company a rolling ladder to fit the height of the doorway access to our equipment mezzanine. We had some specific requirements. Chandler built it perfectly, on time, and at a great cost. We would recommend them to anyone.

We found Chandler Metalworks through our friend Peter who recommended him. Jonathan made a metal sculpture for Peter from a hand sketch. It was very well done. Time went by and remodeling on our house turned to rebuilding our main staircase ( picture in the Gallery ). Patrice had an idea which Jonathan adapted to the realities of the staircase. I built the posts and rails, Johnathan and his son Jherek fit the metal balusters to the rails and steps in an afternoon and left the place spotless. We couldn’t be happier. Each evening we sit on the couch and inevitably look at the staircase with appreciation and satisfaction.

I had the good fortune to work with Jonathan Chandler at Chandler Metal Works for a few projects. One in which he was the lead Designer, the second I was the lead Designer. In both cases, Jonathan was a collaborative partner, taking my ideas into account for his design, and offering me suggestions for my design. The result for both pieces was better than I expected because of the collaboration. He delivered both designs on time, on budget and they were of the highest quality. The result is that our entryway gate and barn door are beautiful additions to our home. I would happily work with Jonathan again and highly recommend him for your metal work need.

The Chandlers did a wonderful job fabricating this railing system for our deck. They also make the bird feeder holder and bird bath stand. There is extensive attention to detail in that they have proficed holes for water to drain through and out the bottom rail. They provided a flecked green powder coat paint which we expect to last many more seasons than painted wood. The rail is sturdy, functional an , we believe, esthetic. We appreciated their precision and artistic workmanship.
We had a very simple request: make a small, simple hand-railing for our newly redesigned front porch. Jonathan and his crew far exceeded our expectations. Even for such a simple project they came up with a design that perfectly fits our space. They were also a real pleasure to work with. Highly recommended!
